Shop Policies and Building Trust
This guide shows how to set your shop refund window, custom policy note, fee bearer, and trust settings. These settings apply to products and events in your shop.
Where to find this
- Shop settings: Dashboard → Shop → Settings
- Tabs: Storefront, Product Delivery, Analytics, Policies, Trust
Set your refund policy
- Go to Dashboard → Shop → Settings.
- Open the Policies tab.
- Select a refund window from the dropdown.
- Enter a custom policy note if needed.
- Save.
Refund window options
| Days | Effect |
|---|---|
| 0 | No refunds allowed. |
| 1 | 1-day refund window. |
| 3 | 3-day refund window. |
| 7 | 7-day refund window (default). |
| 14 | 14-day refund window. |
| 30 | 30-day refund window. |
Custom policy note
- Optional text shown alongside the auto-generated refund policy.
- Maximum 200 characters.
- Applies to both products and events.
Set who pays the platform fee
- Go to Dashboard → Shop → Settings.
- Open the Product Delivery tab.
- Under Platform Fee, choose one option:
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| Buyer pays fee | The platform fee is added on top of your product price at checkout. |
| I absorb the fee | The platform fee is deducted from your earnings; buyer sees a cleaner price. |
- Save.
This setting applies to digital product sales only, not event ticketing. Default is buyer pays.
Product delivery settings
In the Product Delivery tab you can also set:

| Default download limit | Unlimited | Limits how many times a buyer can download a file. Blank means unlimited. |
| Auto-send purchase email | On | Sends the download link automatically after purchase. |
Trust settings
In the Trust tab:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Unverified | No trust badge shown. |
| Pending | Verification application under review. |
| Verified | Blue checkmark badge shown on your shop page; affects discovery ranking. |
| Rejected | Application rejected; reason shown if provided. |
Verification is not available for all accounts. The Trust tab shows your current status and any next steps.
What happens next
- The refund window is enforced when buyers request refunds.
- The custom policy note appears on your shop page and checkout flows.
- The fee bearer setting determines how the platform fee is applied to future product checkouts.
- Verification status, when approved, displays a badge on your public shop page.
Limits and requirements
- The custom refund policy note is limited to 200 characters.
- Refund policies apply to both products and events.
- The fee bearer setting applies only to digital products, not events.
- Changes apply to future orders, not retroactively.
Common issues
- No refunds allowed: Setting the window to 0 may increase disputes.
- Fee bearer not changing event prices: The setting does not apply to event tickets.
- Policy not showing: Save the settings and refresh the public shop page.
- Verification button inactive: The verification application feature may not be enabled for your account yet.
