Sell a Book on Trankets
Choose an author, publish a book, prepare its formats and delivery, and check what buyers can access.
Prepare your book file or fulfillment details, cover, description and price before publishing. Use an author identity you are authorised to publish under.
Choose Book
- Open Products and select New product.
- Under What are you selling?, choose Book.
- In Basics, enter the title, description and relevant Genre.
- Select an Author, or choose New author to add one. Optional book details help readers understand the edition and format.
The author name is the byline, not your customer or billing identity. Its public author page collects books under that name. Check the name before publishing.
Prepare the cover and price
Use Media to add the cover and any useful gallery images. Check readability on a phone. Only upload artwork you have permission to use.
In Pricing, set the book's base price in the supported currencies you intend to accept, or use Make Free for a free digital edition. Formats are added after publishing.
Use Settings to review active/listed state and other available options, then select Publish Book. Publishing a record does not itself upload the book file or complete author verification.
Add formats after publishing
Open the saved book, choose Edit, then Pricing → Formats → Add format. Choose the format, enter its prices and configure its stock where applicable. Each format has its own price; do not assume changing the book's base price changes every format. Physical formats require a positive price.
For physical delivery, set up shipping settings, then inspect the buyer's address and shipping quote. A downloadable edition does not use the physical fulfillment flow.
Prepare delivery
For a downloadable edition, open the saved book's Files tab and upload the intended file before inviting buyers. Check its name, contents, plan size limit and download settings. Do not assume an uploaded cover is the book's download file.
If you offer a physical format, configure its supported stock, shipping and fulfillment details. It follows a different delivery path from a download. Inspect the buyer's selection and quote before sharing the offer.
Understand author verification
A book under an unverified author can be reachable through its direct link while remaining absent from Books, discovery and your shop. Active/listed settings alone do not bypass verification or a moderation restriction.
Follow author verification to request review. A pending request is not approval, and approval does not replace the book's own listing requirements.
Check the buyer journey
Open the public book link and check its title, author, cover, format, price and delivery explanation. After an eligible completed purchase, verify the appropriate access or fulfillment status. A payment-page return or submitted receipt email is not proof of delivery.
Completed purchases can create contact records. Review groups and messaging eligibility separately before promoting another book to those buyers.
