Set Up Event Seating
Configure tables and seats, connect seating to ticket options and protect existing allocations when editing a plan.
Use seating when tickets need table or seat allocations. A seating layout, ticket stock and the event's total capacity are separate settings; review all three before registration opens.
Create the plan
- Open the event and choose Manage → Seating.
- In Plan, set Number of Tables and Seats per Table.
- Review the table and seat prefixes, numbering style and available assignment mode.
- Check the preview's total seats against the intended venue layout.
- Select Save Seating Plan, then read the saved configuration.
Your plan and the platform's layout safety limit can restrict its size. More generated seats do not increase your subscription's attendee allowance or the venue's safe capacity.
Connect ticket options
Open the applicable ticket under Manage Tickets. Enable seating where supported and review its assignment rules. Do not assume creating a seating plan changes every existing ticket automatically.
Check a controlled registration before opening sales. Review the attendee's ticket and allocated location, not only the plan's seat count. A checkout hold can temporarily make a seat unavailable before a registration completes.
Review allocations
Use Allocations to inspect seat status and the available block/release actions. Check the location and any assigned attendee before confirming a change. A blocked seat is not an available place to sell.
Ticket reassignment, holder correction and seat release are different actions. Use the relevant attendee or allocation control for the intended change, and read its confirmation before proceeding.
Edit without moving existing guests
Booked, held and blocked seats are protected during plan edits. Expansion and changes to available locations may be possible, but a change that would move or remove a protected location is refused.
If an edit is refused, keep the current plan and review the affected allocations. Make the appropriate explicit move or release only when it is intended and permitted. Do not delete and recreate a plan to work around protected allocations.
