Setting Up Tickets

This guide explains how to configure tickets for an event. You can create free or paid tickets, set prices in multiple currencies, and control availability with stock limits and sales windows.

Where to Find This

PagePath
Event tickets pageDashboard → Events → [Your event] → Tickets

After you create an event, Trankets redirects you here automatically.

Step 1: Open the Tickets Page

  1. Go to Dashboard → Events.
  2. Click the event you want to edit.
  3. Click the Tickets tab, or go directly to Dashboard → Events → [Your event] → Tickets.
  4. Click Add Ticket.

Step 2: Enter Ticket Details

Fill in the ticket form:

FieldRequiredNotes
Ticket NameYesWhat attendees see, e.g. "General Admission".
Ticket TypeYesChoose Free or Paid.
PricesFor paid ticketsSet one or more currency prices.
StockNoLeave empty for unlimited. Set a number to limit availability.
Sales StartNoWhen the ticket becomes available.
Sales EndNoWhen the ticket stops being available.

Step 3: Set Prices

Paid tickets support prices in eight currencies:

CurrencyCode
Nigerian NairaNGN
US DollarUSD
Ghana CediGHS
Kenyan ShillingKES
South African RandZAR
Zambian KwachaZMW
British PoundGBP
EuroEUR

You do not need to set prices in all currencies. If a buyer visits from a country whose currency you have not priced, they see the price converted from your base currency.

Step 4: Set Stock Limits

  • Leave Stock blank for unlimited tickets.
  • Enter a number to limit the quantity available.
  • When stock reaches zero, the ticket shows as sold out.

Step 5: Set Sales Windows

SettingPurpose
Sales StartHide tickets until a specific date and time.
Sales EndStop sales before the event starts.

If you do not set dates, tickets are available immediately and remain open until the event ends.

What Buyers See

On your public event page, buyers see:

  • All active ticket types.
  • Prices in their detected currency or your base currency.
  • Stock remaining, if limited.
  • A "Sold Out" badge when stock is zero.

After selecting a ticket and completing registration or payment, Trankets sends a confirmation email with a QR code.

When you get paid

Ticket revenue is credited to your Trankets wallet as soon as a buyer's payment is confirmed. There is no separate payout schedule for events. You can view the credit in Dashboard → Wallet → Transaction History and withdraw it from Dashboard → Wallet → Withdraw Funds once you meet the withdrawal requirements.

Common Issues

  • Ticket not showing. Check that the current date is within the sales window and that stock is still available.
  • Price confusion. Set prices in the currencies most relevant to your audience. NGN and USD are commonly used together.
  • Stock oversell. Trankets prevents selling more tickets than the stock limit allows.
