Event Settings Explained

Every switch on your event, what it controls, and where to find it. Settings live in two places: the edit form (open your event and click Edit - it has Basics, Location, Details, and Settings tabs) and the event page's own Settings tab, which also holds the Danger Zone.

Beyond the Form

A few event controls deliberately live elsewhere:

  • Feature on your page - pins the event to the top of your public /u/ page. Maximum 3 featured events. Found with the event's sharing controls.
  • Affiliate promotion - the "let affiliates promote this" toggle sits on the event Overview tab and saves instantly. See Setting up an affiliate program.
  • Registration form questions - built on the Invitation Page under Manage, in its Registration Form tab.
  • FAQs - their own page under Manage. Up to 20 question-and-answer pairs, shown as an accordion on the public page.
  • Email Template - customize your confirmation and invitation email designs. Available on all plans. (Invitation page design templates are a paid-plan feature.)
  • Check-in access code - on the Event Overview, in the Event Links card. See Check-in day.

The Danger Zone

At the bottom of the event page's Settings tab:

  • Cancel Event - closes registrations and refunds every paid attendee to their original payment method. Requires the event to be more than 24 hours away, a reason of at least 10 characters, and a ticked confirmation. Permanent. Full detail: Cancelling an event the right way.
  • Delete Event - removes the event entirely; you type the event name to confirm. If people have paid, cancel instead.

Common Issues

  • Event not discoverable. Check Public Listing.
  • Cannot register. Check Public registration, and that the event is not cancelled or at capacity.
  • Want a different URL. The event link is permanent - create a new event if the link must change.
  • Cannot cancel. The event is within 24 hours of starting, or you are not the host.
