Event Settings Explained
Every switch on your event, what it controls, and where to find it. Settings live in two places: the edit form (open your event and click Edit - it has Basics, Location, Details, and Settings tabs) and the event page's own Settings tab, which also holds the Danger Zone.
Basics Tab
| Setting | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Event Image | No | Shown on the page and social shares. 1200 x 630px works best. |
| Event Name | Yes | Public title, used on the page, emails, and shares. |
| Event link | Auto | Your URL ending under trankets.com/events/. Checked live for availability - and permanent after creation. |
| Summary | No | Teaser for discovery cards, search results, and link previews. |
| Category | No | Discovery filtering. |
| Start / End Date | Start required | End date for multi-day events. Timezone is detected automatically. |
Location Tab
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Event format | In person, Online, or Hybrid. Online and hybrid events get a Virtual event page for the meeting link. |
| Where is your event? | Location picker, used for discovery filtering. |
| Venue name (optional) | Building or space name. |
| Street address and directions (optional) | Shown to registrants. |
Details Tab
The rich-text description on your public page. Use Improve with AI if the words will not come.
Settings Tab
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Public Listing | On | Shows the event on the discovery page. Off = direct link only, good for private gatherings. |
| Public registration | On | Anyone with the link can register. |
| Auto-send confirmation email | On | Sends the confirmation with QR code right after registration. |
| Show attendee count | - | Displays how many people are going on the public page. Social proof once numbers grow. |
| Total capacity | Empty | The most people this event can hold, counting every ticket type together. |
| Currency visitors see first | Automatic (their country) | Which of your priced currencies a visitor meets first. |
| Theme Color | Trankets accent | Brands the event page. Available on every plan. |
Beyond the Form
A few event controls deliberately live elsewhere:
- Feature on your page - pins the event to the top of your public
/u/page. Maximum 3 featured events. Found with the event's sharing controls. - Affiliate promotion - the "let affiliates promote this" toggle sits on the event Overview tab and saves instantly. See Setting up an affiliate program.
- Registration form questions - built on the Invitation Page under Manage, in its Registration Form tab.
- FAQs - their own page under Manage. Up to 20 question-and-answer pairs, shown as an accordion on the public page.
- Email Template - customize your confirmation and invitation email designs. Available on all plans. (Invitation page design templates are a paid-plan feature.)
- Check-in access code - on the Event Overview, in the Event Links card. See Check-in day.
The Danger Zone
At the bottom of the event page's Settings tab:
- Cancel Event - closes registrations and refunds every paid attendee to their original payment method. Requires the event to be more than 24 hours away, a reason of at least 10 characters, and a ticked confirmation. Permanent. Full detail: Cancelling an event the right way.
- Delete Event - removes the event entirely; you type the event name to confirm. If people have paid, cancel instead.
Common Issues
- Event not discoverable. Check Public Listing.
- Cannot register. Check Public registration, and that the event is not cancelled or at capacity.
- Want a different URL. The event link is permanent - create a new event if the link must change.
- Cannot cancel. The event is within 24 hours of starting, or you are not the host.
